Evlyeen (Dawkins) Luck

Evlyeen Dawkins Luck, age 93, of the Deep River Community, Sanford, NC, died at her home surrounded by family early Monday morning, September 24, 2018.

She was born in Chatham County, NC on December 14, 1924 to the late Daniel Washington Dawkins and Maggie Tripp Dawkins.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Luck Sr. and three sisters Naomi D. Riddle, Margaret D. Gilmore and Bertha D. Taylor.

She is survived by a son Joseph A. Luck Jr. of Sanford, a daughter Martha Luck Masttallone and husband Richard of Pawley’s Island, SC; granddaughter Amanda Luck and boyfriend Chris Frye of Charlotte, NC; brother Dan Dawkins and wife Lena of Sanford, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her awesome caregiving team- Nieces Lisa Melby, Jeneverette Roberts and the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice; especially Pat Lynch, Chrissy Sanford and Sandra Hickman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at the family home.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 27th at 2:00 PM at Flat Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Gary McCollough, Rev. Steve Johnson and Mr. Steven Gilmore officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
