Etta Douglas Laposay, 98, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully at Liberty Commons on Sat., Dec. 16, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents Luther Wilson Douglas and Ida Bean Douglas; husband George Laposay Sr.; daughter Patricia Shelton and 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son George H. Laposay Jr. and wife Diane of Warrenton, VA; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  Etta worked at W. Koury Company and was a homemaker.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, NC on Monday, Dec. 18^th from 11AM until the funeral service begins at 12 Noon with Rev. Ralph Douglas and Dr. Gail Dickens officiating.  Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
