Edward James Hayes, age 69, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Eddie was born in Hempstead, New York on November 06, 1947, to the late John Alan Hayes and Eula Lee Stone Hayes. He graduated from Sanford Central High School and furthered his education at Sandhills Community College.  He was a meat market manager at Winn-Dixie for several years and was a partner in Garner Seafood Market in Garner, N.C.   When he moved back to Sanford, he worked as a quality service manager at Trion until he retired.  Eddie was a very loving and dedicated husband, father and brother.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Annette Jackson Hayes; a son, Kyle Edward Hayes of Raleigh whom he loved and was very proud of; a sister, Joan Smith, of Sanford; several nieces and nephews and brother-in laws Larry and wife Donna; Danny and wife Jean.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at White Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Brown B. Patton officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
