Doris Jean (Sloan) Norris

Doris Sloan Norris, age 86, of Broadway, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lee County on November 4, 1933 to the late Frank Creech Sloan and Mary Ann Patterson Sloan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Glenn Norris and granddaughter, Brittany Jean Wilson.  Doris was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 53 years.  Doris loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Norris of Sanford; daughter, Lora Norris Wilson and husband, Joe of Broadway; two brothers, Ralph Sloan and Bobby Sloan both of Broadway; two sisters, Eva Coleman and husband, Thomas of Sanford and Loraine Womack of Lillington and a granddaughter, Samantha Norris of Broadway.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Monday, December 9, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
