Doris Elizabeth Bridgers Nigro, age 92, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the comfort of her home.

She was born in Harnett County on September 30, 1925 to the late Lewin Bridgers and Louise Howell Bridgers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Nigro; a son, Frank James Nigro, Jr; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Nigro; four sisters and one brother.   She was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen and was active in the Goodwill Sunday School Class and the Agnes Wiley Missionary Circle. Doris loved volunteering. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Douglas Center.

Doris is survived by her son, Douglas James Nigro of Sanford; her daughter, Joan Grote and her husband, Steven of Missoula, Montana; one brother, Donald Bridgers of Vass and five grandchildren.

A memorial service for Doris will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends following the service.
