Donald Gene Thomas, age 70, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on February 7, 1947 to the late Robert Clayton Thomas and Laura Kate Kelly Thomas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Thomas and a sister, Bonnie Buchanan. Donald was a graduate of North Carolina State University and proudly served his country for 34 years in both the US Army and National Guard.  He was owner and operator of C&D Warehouse.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Boughton Thomas of the home; a stepson, Eric James Pederson and his wife, Deborah of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Betty Ann Griffin of Williamsburg, VA and Adelle Bradley of Desert Hot Springs, Calf.  He is also survived by his grandchild, Christina Miller and great-grandchildren, Colton Miller and Eric Miller. 

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
