Delano Riddle Borys

Delano Riddle Borys, age 83, of Louisburg, NC, formerly of the Deep River Community in Lee County, NC, died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her home on Lake Royale in Louisburg, NC.

She was born in Lee County on May 13, 1936 to the late Luther London Riddle and Anna Bert Hurley Riddle.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Walter Borys; siblings Eavie Genie Riddle, Kato Riddle, Dan Riddle, George Riddle, Lewis Riddle and Sarah Riddle Schenck; son-in-law Bill Dively; daughter Sandra Borys Thompson and grandson John Henry Dively.

Delano graduated from Deep River High School Class of 1955 and Drake Business College in New Brunswick, NJ.  She lived and worked 10 years in New Jersey where she met her late husband, John Walter Borys.  Delano worked as an internal auditor for the banking industry and was a lifelong member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was an associate member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church in Spring Hope, NC.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Borys Dively of Hollidaysburg, PA; brother Jack Riddle and wife Peggy of Deep River; sister Judith Riddle Nance and husband Jerry of Deep River; granddaughter Jeanne Thompson Riddle and husband Mark of Bear Creek, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family that she loved very much.

Funeral service will be at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Houston Blair and Ms. Nicole Hamilton officiating.  Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Jack and Peggy Riddle, 3483 Deep River Road, Sanford, NC.
