Cinda Turnage Obituary

Cinda O’Quinn Turnage, age 89, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Parkview Retirement Center.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on December 26, 1928 to the late D. Herbert O’Quinn and Flennie Hallman O’Quinn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Enoch Monroe “E.M.” Turnage; brothers Sammy O’Quinn, Jimmy O’Quinn, Mack O’Quinn and sister Edna Wilson. Cinda worked many years as a bookkeeper beginning her career at FCX, then Liberty Furniture and retiring from MOEN. She was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters Theresa Harrington of Broadway, Cynthia Wicker and husband Mike of Sanford; brother Mike O’Quinn and wife Jessie of Cameron; sisters Jackie Thomas of Broadway, Janet Childress of Lemon Springs; grandchildren Angela Jones, Dana Wicker, Julia Lee, Laura Farrell, David Wicker and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the McDowell Hall of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of Theresa Harrington. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wayne O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo cemetery.
