Bobby Richard Davis

Bobby Richard Davis, age 80, of Broadway, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Lee County to the late Max Carlton Davis and Mazille Sauls Currie.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Currie. Bobby was a graduate of Sanford Central High. He retired after a long career with IBM where he worked in world trade shipping.  After retirement he worked alongside his sons, Rick and Darryl, in their family business, Davis Sales Company. Bobby also worked at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home for many years.  He was a longtime, faithful member and Elder of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church. 

Bobby is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Gupton Davis; sons, Rick Davis and wife, Kathy and Darryl Davis; brothers, Carlton Davis, Mitchell Currie, Roger Currie, Tim Currie and Dennis Currie; sister, Sandy Currie; grandchildren, Richard Davis, Jr., Brian Davis, Stephanie Reed and husband, Tristan, Kaycee Davis, Holly Bastress and husband, Vincent, Chris Davis and Martin Davis; great-grandchildren, Loralie and Tristan Davis, Madison, Brianne and Ella Davis, Landon and Harper Reed, Ava and Ryan Bastress and Lily-Bell Davis.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Taylor officiating.
