Bobbie Braxton House

August 10, 1931 ~ October 26, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Mr. Bobbie Braxton House, age 86, of 284 Moncure School Road, Moncure, NC, died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Micro, NC on August 10, 1931 to the late Barden Jackson House and Ophelia Batten House.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Grey Jones House and siblings Dorothy Holding, Adele Giles, Ruby Whitley, Faith Wallace, Alton Howes and B.J. Howes.  Mr. House served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict then he was able to attend Selma Agriculture School through the GI Bill.  He spent his 48-year career with Sanford Construction Company then Sanford Contractors as a Bridge Construction Superintendent.  He was a member of Haywood Bible Church and was a past member and president of the Moncure Lions Club.  He was manager of Jordan Dam RV Park following his retirement but his passion was rebuilding Farmall 140 tractors and gardening.

He is survived by his sons Bobby B. House, Jr. and wife Karen of Thomasville, Jeff House and wife Camille of Sanford, Bart House of the home; special friend Mildred May of Sanford; brothers Lebert Howes of Henderson who stayed by his brother’s side till he died, Roosevelt Howes of Greenville; sister LeVere Williamson of Selma; grandchildren Doug House, David House, Jennifer Lewis and husband Jason, Austin House; great-grandchildren Zane House, Zachary Lewis, Bella Lewis and Elizabeth Grey House.  He is also survived by special friends Tony Douglas and Earl Stacker. Special thanks to his caregivers Nancy Dunn, Ruth Gunter, Sabrina Leedom, Jenny Spainhour, Debbie Morris and his Hospice Nurse Tara Barrett.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and at other times at the family home in Moncure.  The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Brown, Rev. Jim Brady and Rev. Terry Pleasants officiating.  Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens beside his late wife.
