Blanche Geneva Townsend Edwards, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her son’s home in Greenville.

She was born in Rowland, NC on March 15, 1930 to the late Worth Townsend and Olive Moody Townsend.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Edwards and two brothers, Horace and Wayne Townsend.

Geneva attended Flora McDonald College which was located in Red Springs, NC.  She was a long-time member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union and enjoyed singing in the choir.  She loved and relished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include her two sons, Billy Edwards and wife, Diane of Olivia, David Edwards and wife, Gwen of Greenville; one daughter, Kimberly Rightmyer of Greenville; a brother, Worth Townsend, Jr. of Dover, Delaware; seven grandchildren, Caroline Rightmyer, Alyssa Rightmyer, Kyle Edwards and wife, Misty, Clarissa Edwards, Jennifer Haynes, Lauren Webb and husband, Chad, Kaylen Holzworth and husband, Phillip; five great-grandchildren, Jett Webb, Annalyse Webb, Bailee Edwards, Olive Rose Edwards and Holden Holzworth and a special friend, Jennie Bruner.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.  The funeral will follow at 4:00 PM with Dr. Calvin Sayles officiating.  Burial will be private.
