Billy Albert Lane, age 89, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Lubbock County, Texas on May 4, 1928, to the late Edward Albert Lane and Mattie Newton Lane.  Billy was retired from the US Army after serving his country for twenty years.  He also worked at GKN for many years.

He is survived by his wife Madge Lane of the home; his son, Peter James Lane and his wife, Kimberly; two daughters, Krystal Handley and her husband, James Handley, Sr., Kayla Fore and her husband, James Fore and four grandchildren, Eleanor Handley, James Handley, Jr., Bethany Fore and Brayden Fore.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Sayles and Pastor Wesley Thomas officiating.  Entombment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with military honors.
