Betty "Boots" (Morris) Tucker

Betty “Boots” Morris Tucker, age 85, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at UNC Hospice Home.

She was born in Lee County on October 7, 1933, to the late Leon Ed Morris and Berma Wells Morris.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Tucker; sister, Edna Rosser; brother, John Ed Morris and step-grandson, Shane Owens.  Boots retired after a 47 years career at Whitin Roberts Company.

Boots is survived by her children, James Tucker and wife, Beverly of Sanford, Kim Tucker and wife, Brenda of Sanford and Kathy Hyde of Sanford; two sisters, Maxine McLeod of Broadway and Jackie Wilson of Sanford; grandchildren, Lance Hyde, Brad Hyde, Alex Tucker and Amy Tucker; step-grandchild, Tamra Wilson; great-grandchildren, Tucker Hyde, Emma Hyde, Hope Hyde, Sarah Hyde, Alaina Hyde and Kailen Hyde; step-great-grandchildren, Justin Wilson and Cody Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Gregg Presnal officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
