Betty Ann (Maddox) Williams

Betty Ann Maddox Williams, age 77, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, November 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Durham County, NC on February 2, 1942 to the late Emory Talton Maddox “Bute” and Annie Belle Gunter Maddox.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Williams and sister Sylvia Williamson.  Betty was a faithful member of Shallow Well Church and sang in the church choir since the age of 15.  She worked for Koury Company and Magneti Marelli.  She worshiped her grandchildren and enjoyed spending Friday and Saturday nights dancing with her friends.

Betty is survived by her children Barbara Downs and husband Jeff of Burlington, Michelle Sharpe of Sanford, Ricky Taylor and wife Katherine of Sanford; step-son Jason Williams of California; brother Ronnie Maddox and wife Joy of Sanford, Linda Parson and husband Jerry of Sanford; and grandchildren Jonathan Downs and wife Amanda, Steven Downs, Kaitlyn Downs, Joseph Taylor, Will Taylor and Sam Taylor.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Monday, November 11th at 2:00 PM at Shallow Well Church with Rev. Donald Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
