Bertice Dix McDonald

Bertice Dix McDonald, 80 of 929 Broadway Road, passed peacefully from his life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at First Health.  He was a member of East Sanford Baptist Church.

He was born in Harnett County on September 5, 1939 to the late John Caviness McDonald and the late Annie Taylor McDonald.  He was retired from Roberts Company where he worked in Sales for 25 years.  He then started second career in insurance at Farm Bureau for several years and then received his appraisal license where he worked at Adcock and Associates until his retirement.  He volunteered for 19 years at Moore Reginal Hospital.  He was preceded in death by parents John Caviness McDonald and Annie Taylor McDonald.  He was also preceded in death by many siblings, Gladys McDonald McCabe, Doris McDonald Hemingway, Ralph McDonald and William Henry McDonald.

He is survived by his wife Sharon West McDonald of the home; son Jonathan Michael McDonald, and wife Kim from Ayden, NC; daughter Michelle McDonald Hamrick and husband Paul Hamrick of Siler City; grandchildren Taylor White, McKenzie White, Morgan McDonald, and Justin McDonald and great-grandson Jamesley White.

The family will receive friends one and half hours before the service.  The service will be on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at 2pm at East Sanford Baptist Church by the Rev. Robbie Gibson and Rev. Bob Yandle officiating. Burial will be held at Lee Memory Garden.
