Barbara (Kirby) Maddox

Barbara Kirby Maddox, age 82, of 1015 Pickett Road died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on October 20, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Maddox Family Cemetery. 

Mrs. Maddox was native of Lee County.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Edwin Maddox; daughter-in-law, Becky Yow Maddox; mother and father, Lucille and Shula Kirby; sister, Jo Ann Liles and two brothers, Sam and Larry Kirby.

Mrs. Maddox is survived by her son, Ronnie Maddox; granddaughter, Heather Ann Maddox; daughter, Teresa Gurkin and husband, Alan, all of Sanford; three sisters, Susan Smith and husband, Jack of Madison, Georgia, Judy Grissom and husband, Thomas, Nancey Kirby of Sanford and two brothers, Bill Kirby and Robert Kirby of Sanford.

Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the home of her son, Ronnie at 8285 Cox Mill Road, Sanford, NC.
