Author "Butch" Lee Willard

Author “Butch” Lee Willard, age 70, of Cameron, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Yadkinville, NC on July 2, 1948, to the late Jessie Lee Willard and Cleo Southard Willard.  He worked for many years installing vinyl siding. Butch had a passion for gospel music and played with many groups over the years.  He was also a gifted musician and enjoyed playing both the harmonica and bass guitar as well as other instruments. 

Butch is survived by his wife, Linda Gregory Willard; two daughters, Monica Altman and husband, Max of Angier and Cheryl Reneé Hall and husband, Richard of Sanford; four brothers, Barry Willard and wife, Carla of West End, Roger Willard of Sanford, Jesse Willard of Sanford and David Willard and wife, Dorothy Ann of Jonesville; six sisters, Linda Hill of Sanford, Annette Arnette and husband, Doc of Sanford, Wanda Gunter and husband, Jeff of Sanford, Patricia Porter of Hamptonville, Wilma Smith and husband, Everette of Sanford and Alma Todd and husband, Dale of Iowa; two grandchildren, Megan Hall and Amber Hall; three great-grandchildren, Caden Morrison, Connor Morrison and Aiden Zeiss.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Grace Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in Good Shepard Baptist Church Cemetery.
