William Donnie Gilmore, age 70, of Asheboro, NC passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House.

He was born in Lee County on Jan. 24, 1947 to the late John Marvin Gilmore and Clouis Cole Gilmore.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Johnnie Carol and Shirley Thompson; brothers, Vernon, Billy, Roy Wayne, John Jr., and Frankie Gilmore.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Rose Drayton Gilmore; two sons, Mark Gilmore and wife Wendy of Goldston and Michael Gilmore of Troy; two daughters, Donna Faye Beal and husband Stephen of Goldston and Lisa Gilmore of Asheboro; siblings, Marvelene Corcoran, Brenda Denkins and husband Benny of Sanford, Barbara Graham and husband Al of Olivia, Roger Gilmore and wife Darlene of Olivia, Faye Hollady and husband Alton of Ramseur, and Debbie O’Quinn and husband David of Broadway; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 1:00 PM to funeral hour in the Chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM.   Burial will take place at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
