Vickie Lynn Matthews Wicker, age 56, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Lee County on January 26, 1961 to John Zelton Matthews Sr. and Juanita Taylor Matthews.  She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents Edgar & Magdalene Davis and Jim & Jossie Taylor.  Vickie was a homemaker and loved her children, nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by children Robert Wayne Wicker, Jr. and girlfriend Jeannie Pat, Roger Lynn Wicker and girlfriend Misty Klein; grandchildren Victoria Wicker and Miranda Thomas; siblings Zelda Matthews and husband Banjo, Bonnie M. Jones and husband Tim, John Z. Matthews Jr., Marvin Matthews and wife Jennifer, Tammy M. Wicker and husband Jeff; nieces and  nephews Jonathon Matthews, Jordan Jones, Jenna Jones, Peter Matthews II, James “Bean” Matthews , Tabitha Riley, Austin Matthews, Katherine Matthews, Jeffrey Wicker, Suzanna Wicker and Maggie Rose Wicker.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at the family home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Tim Coe and Rev. Glen Hallead officiating.  Burial will follow in the Matthews Family cemetery on Holder Road.
