Thomas “Tommy” James Barbour, age 54, of Angier, NC died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at WakeMed Raleigh.

He was born and raised in Lee County, NC on February 22, 1961 to Bobby Gene Barbour of Sanford and the late Joyce Campbell Barbour.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard “Ricky” Campbell, Sr..  Tommy’s home church was Hillview Christian Assembly and he simply loved spending time with his family.  He was currently a member of Piney Grove Chapel in Angier and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at WakeMed Cary Campus.

In addition to his father Bobby Gene Barbour and wife Mary Garner Barbour of Sanford, Tommy is survived by his wife Patricia “Tricia” Peffer Barbour; son Derek Barbour and wife Jamie of Raleigh; daughters Brittany Barbour of Sanford, Kayla Barbour and Heather Barbour both of Angier; brothers Daniel “Dan” Barbour and wife Debra of Sanford, David Barbour and wife Mary of Deep River; sister Teresa Barefoot and husband Ricky of Godwin; granddaughter Anberlyn Barbour; and sister-in-law Opal Campbell of Sanford.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 at Hillview Christian Assembly, 3217 Lemon Springs Road, Sanford, NC  27332, with Pastor Timmy Blair officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the church fellowship hall immediately before the funeral service.
