Ms. Sylvia Carolyn Phillips, age 66, a lifelong resident of Sanford, NC, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late James Harold and Mary Hilliard Phillips.

She worked for Lee Paving Company where she was recognized for 25 years of service and later retired from S.T. Wooten Corporation. She was a charter member of Eastside Pentecostal Holiness Church.  In 2010, she was honored for 50 years of service to her local church.  Over the years she served her community and church in many capacities especially with her musical gifts as an accomplished pianist and vocalist.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Bob Phillips and wife, Dee Phillips of Winston Salem, N.C.; nephew, Rob Phillips and wife, Adrian Smith Phillips and children Maddie and Jack Phillips of Apex, N.C.; and niece Jessica Phillips and daughter, Annika Bain of Durham, N.C.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 3, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:00pm at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford, N.C.  The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Hinson officiating.  Following the service, burial will be at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Sanford, N.C.
