Rose Robertson Hute, age 91, of Washington State, formerly of Sanford, NC, died Friday, August 11, 2017.

She was born in Tidewater, VA on August 21, 1925 to the late Howell Robertson and Alma Virginia Topping Robertson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Darrel Lloyd Hute.  Rose was a professional singer.  She sang at Air Force bases and numerous USOs during her career.  She was also scheduled to sing in a casino in Chicago when President Kennedy was assassinated. Rose was a member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Marlaine Wells of Sanford; grandchildren Harvey Wicker and wife Margaret of Oak Harbor, Washington and Elizabeth Johnson and husband James of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Buffalo cemetery with Mr. Ray Parrish officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
