Robert G. “Bob” Gaster, age 78, of Sanford, NC passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at his home. 

Bob was born in Lee County, on March 29, 1938, to the late R. Graham Gaster and Marie Thomas Gaster.  He served in the US Air Force.  Years later he worked for Allied Chemical/Honeywell thirty-five plus years until his retirement.  In his retirement he enjoyed working in his yard and took great pleasure in his flowers.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Helping others was the greatest joy of his life.

Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years Mary Ann Gaster and by a son Brady of Sammamish, Washington, his wife Gina, and grandsons Gabriel and Lucas.  He is also survived by a brother Donald Gaster and wife Brenda, and sisters Nancy Shue and husband Joey; Ella Frye and husband Richard.  Surviving nephews Tom Frye, Jeff Frye, Will Shue, Brandon Yenc, and Bryan Yenc; nieces Ann Spain, Angela Smith, Sarah Patterson, and Katie Smith.  A number of other special people also claim him as their father or brother.

Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 6 to 8PM.  The funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4^th, 2PM at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church.  Burial will follow at St. Stephens, 901 N Franklin Dr., Sanford, NC.
