Robert Don Tyner, Sr., age 69, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Moore County, NC on February 6, 1946 to the late Robert Davis Tyner and Nora Mae Smith Tyner.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Vavrica.  Mr. Tyner was a road construction foreman.

He is survived by his wife Frances Whitaker Tyner; sons James Paul Tyner of Sanford, Anthony Glenn Tyner of Cameron, Gary Neil Tyner and wife Christina of Cameron, George David Tyner and wife Karen of Sanford and Robert Don Tyner, Jr., of Cameron; sister Linda Lewis and husband Fred of Green Cove Springs, FL; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ives Memorial Baptist Church, 365 East Philadelphia Ave., Pinebluff, NC 28373.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM in the Pinebluff Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Dwyer officiating.
