Phyllis Ann Buchanan Brown, age 82, of Suffolk, VA, formerly of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at her home in Virginia.

She was born in Lee County, NC on January 19, 1935 to the late Phil Buchanan and Martha Isenhour Buchanan.  Mrs. Brown was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Buster Brown; brother, Keith Buchanan and sister, Kay Janovich.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Brotherton and husband David of Suffolk, VA; son Gerald Medlin of Vass, NC; sister Bonnie W. Buchanan of Sanford, NC; grandchildren Andrew Barlow of Newport News, VA and Candida Roland of Virginia Beach, VA.  She is also survived by four great-grandchildren Kayla, Alyssa, Alora and Addisyn.

The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, 11:00 am with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating.  Burial will follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.
