Pauline McDonald Atkins, age 97, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines.

Mrs. Atkins was born in Lee County, on May 19, 1918, to the late W.A. McDonald and Molly Talbot McDonald.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouses Claude Carlye and Joe Atkins; sons, William Carlye and Larry Carlye; daughters, Carol Dickens and Elizabeth “Lib” Lane; a grandson, Kenny Layne.

Mrs.  Atkins is survived by a daughter, Judy Vila and husband Bill of Cameron; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, from 6 to 8PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Wed., Feb. 10^th, 2PM at Lamms Grove Cemetery with Chaplain Joel Cameron presiding.
