Morton Wayne Smith

Morton Wayne Smith, age 71, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1946 to the late Morton McKnight Smith and Mildred White Smith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Gloria Proctor and Darlene Klinehan.  Wayne retired in 1998 as a 2nd class lineman from Public Works Commission in Fayetteville, NC after many years of service.

Surviving relatives include his two daughters, Wendy Markel of Surbury, Ohio and Sherry DeLong and husband, Shane DeLong from Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Miranda Markel, Garett Markel, Jessica Dobbs and Samantha Dobbs and by his younger brother, Tommy Smith and wife, Iris.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Calvary Missionary Methodist Church.  A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Curtis Norris officiating.
