Melody Gayl Oleson, age 66, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Tampa, FL on July 27, 1951 to the late John Oleson and Grace Weaver Oleson.  She served our country in the United States Army retiring after 22 years of service as a satellite communication system operator.

She is survived by one son, Gary P.E. Macadaeg of Indianapolis, Indiana; one daughter, Melody Kay Capper of Mt. Airy, NC; one sister, Charolette Faye Oleson of Albany, Georgia; three nephews, Timothy Ellis Oleson of Tampa, Florida, John Thomas Oleson, Jr. of Tampa, Florida, Robert Martinez of Jacksonville, Florida and two nieces, Melody Zeegers of Chelsea, Alabama and Debra Herrell of Tallahassee, Florida.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, NC
