Max Dean, age 87, of Sanford died, Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Peak Resources in Carthage, NC.

Mr. Dean was born on Oct. 8, 1928, in Harnett County, to the late Jesse David Dean and Lura Matthews Dean.  He worked as a farmer for many years and owned several businesses in Wake County.  Mr. Dean owned the Sanford Cab Company for several years and two recreational centers in Wake County and two centers in Lee County.  Max was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn Dean; sisters and brothers, Ellis Dean, Robert Dean, Alta Jacobs, Josephine Ottaway, Elsie Olive and Nealie Campbell.

He is survived by his children sons, Tony Dean (Bonnie) of Sanford; Max “Junior” Dean, Jr of Southern Pines; daughters, Terrie Everette (Andy) of Cameron and Teresa Coore (Norman) of Sanford; five grandchildren, Faith Williams, Trisha Armstrong, Lee Coore, Erin Cameron and Andrea Everette; and two great grandchildren, Madison and Logan Armstrong.

The family will receive friends on Wed., April 27, 2016, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 6 to 8PM.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016, 2PM at the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Foley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
