Mae Rene Bodenhamer Thomas, age 78, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mae Rene was born in Stokes County, NC on April 29, 1939 to the late Charlie Bodenhamer and Myrtle Edwards Bodenhamer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Thomas; daughter, Janet Huffman and three brothers, Bud, Mack and Junior Bodenhamer.  Mae Rene, along with her late husband, owned and operated a golf course for many years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Hart and her husband, Tony of Sanford and Debbie Rollins and her life partner, Mike Dew of Sanford; seven grandchildren, Jody Yarborough, Rian Huffman, Travis Hart, Cecily Rollins, Lindsay Rollins, Jacob Huffman and Tiffany Hall; and one great-grandchild, Cayden Hart.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Shallow Well Church cemetery with Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating.
