Johnny Carl Wood, age 69, of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Lee County on November 25, 1946 to the late Rev. Carlie Wood and Nellie Hickman Wood.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Vickie Lynn Wood; brother Billy Ray Wood and sister Ann Chaffee.  Johnny was the service manager at Sanford Ford for many years and served our country in the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters Carla Wood Bailey and husband Jeffrey of Broadway, Angela Wood Vaughan and husband Chris of Sanford; brother Jim Wood and wife Flo of Sanford; sisters Delores McIntosh of Wilmington, Linda Pope and husband Carter of Olivia, Judi Darroch and husband Mitch of Sanford, Tammy Drzewicki and husband Walter of Broadway; grandchildren Aaron Revolt, Victoria Cochrane, Clay Vaughan, C. J. Bailey, Thomas Bailey and great-grandchildren Jayden Cochrane and Natalie Agosto.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Calvary Missionary Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Curtis Norris, Rev. Pearl Castleberry and Rev. Andrew Sharum officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 18th immediately before the funeral service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church.
