John Howard Cobb, age 84, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.

John was born on May 25, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to Zola Manes and Lynn Cave Cobb.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lynn, Jim, and Doug Cobb.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Johnston of Sanford, and his younger sister, Norma Armstrong as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

John served in the Air Force, Army and Navy.  He was honorably discharged in 1963.

John was a pilot and loved flying. John lived and worked in the Middle East for over 45 years, most recently as General Manager for the  Foster Wheeler Corporation  in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kuwait.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, 1PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Glen Hallead.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
