Mr. Jimmie Ray Sells, age 73, of Sanford, N.C. died Monday, July 11, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Sells was born on June 29, 1943, in Bristol County, Virginia to the late James Henry Sells and Earmal Ruth Jobe Sells.
Mr. Sells was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Ft. Bragg for 34 years as a civilian employee where he worked as a Graphics Artist at Training Aids and then as a Visual Information Specialist at J.F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center until his retirement. After retirement, he worked for Securitas Security for Coty, Moen, and Performance Fibers.
He was raised in Kingsport, Tennessee and attended Holston High School in Blountville, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Williams Sells. Mr. Sells is survived by his wife, Suzi Sells of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Sells-Tipton of Sanford; son-in-law. Terry D. Tipton of Sanford; three grandchildren, Christopher S. Tipton and wife, Ashley R. Tipton of Sanford, Michael A. Tipton of Sanford, and Bradley J. Tipton of Aviano, A.F.B. in Aviano, Italy; and four great-grandchildren, Cayleigh Agee, Jordon Tipton, Harper Tipton and John Tipton.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
