James Halford Wilson, 79, of Sanford, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. Wilson was born in Harnett County, on June 2, 1937, to the late James Milo Wilson and Leona Edwards Wilson.  He was the owner and operator of Halford Wilson Trucking Company and a farmer.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Setzer; a son, Michael Wilson; a grandson, Eddie Ryals; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Holland and a great grandson, Eddie James Ryals.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Carter Wilson of the home; a son, James Halford Wilson, Jr (Glenda) of Cameron; three daughters, Shelia Holder of Sanford, Kay Looper (Dan) of Sanford and Connie Holland (Mike) of Cameron; a brother, Cleo Wilson of Roxboro; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2016, from 6 to 8PM, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 2PM at the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Hallead presiding.  Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
