Jackie Lee Carey, age 65, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. Carey was born in Lee County, N.C., on Sept. 19, 1949, to the late John Lee Carey and Lura Strickland Carey.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Franklin Carey and Jerry Carey. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary McKay Carey; two brothers, Joel Carey of Sanford, NC and John Albert Carey, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC and by a sister, J.C. Carey of the Deep River Community of Sanford, NC.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015, 10AM at Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Baker and Brent Fallin officiating.
