Jack Carter, Jr. “J.C.” of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on June 3, 1940 to the late Jack Carter and Gertie Gillis Carter.  He worked at Saco Lowell and retired from Weyerhaeuser.  He loved cowboy movies, Nascar racing and only drove Ford vehicles.

He is survived by his wife Edna Frye Carter; three daughters Sherry Carter Smith and husband Jackie of Olivia, Tammy Jay Carter and husband Tim Murphy of Sanford, Deborah Carter Blackmon and husband Jimmy Joe of Sanford; two brothers Paul H. Carter and wife Susie, Donnie Carter and wife Sandra all of Sanford; two sisters Janice Carter Holder and Wilma Carter Truelove both of Sanford; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and the funeral service will be Saturday, August 22nd at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating.  Burial will follow at Grace Chapel Church cemetery.
