Harland Albert Saulter, age 98, of Sanford, NC, passed away into his savior’s loving arms on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. Saulter was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1919 to the late George Saulter and Annabelle Blow Saulter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie.  Harland was a dedicated pastor, evangelist and dairy farmer. 

He is survived by his wife, Maisie Brodie Saulter; two sons, Robert Saulter of Savannah, Georgia and Joe Saulter of Greenwood, New York; one daughter, Gloria Smith of Illinois; three brothers, Laverne, Everett and Clifton Saulter all of Coudersport, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Harland and his wife also opened their home to ten other children who they raised as their own.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Old Fashion Independent Baptist Church located at 2156 Rosser Pittman Road, Broadway, NC with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert Davis officiating.  Burial will be in the Calvary Memorial Church Cemetery located at 235 Dawson Virginia Drive, Raeford, NC at 4:00 PM.
