Mrs. Frances Jean Boyd Gillis, age 64, of Broadway, N.C., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, N.C.

Mrs. Gillis was born on Dec. 5, 1950, in Moore County, N.C., to the late Robert Joseph Boyd and Connie Alto Davis Boyd.  She previously worked as a distribution clerk at Davenports.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Paul Gillis; five brothers, Martin Boyd, Bill Boyd, Jim Boyd, Royce Boyd, and Roger Boyd; three half-brothers, Warren Boyd, Wendell Boyd, and Waymoth Boyd; a sister, Betty Champney and one grandchild, Michael Trey Thorne.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Jean Smith and husband Chad of Cameron, N.C., Wanda Gail Thorne and husband Scott of Sanford, N.C. and Tammy Renee Kelly of Sanford; a brother, Donald Boyd and wife Margie of Bear Creek, N.C.; three sisters, Dot Bouldin and husband Elmer, Bonnie Blackmon and husband Jimmy, and Judy Grant and husband Henry all of Sanford, N.C.; a half-sister Josephine Norman of Dobson, N.C.; six grandchildren, Taylor Thorne, Baylee Thorne, Jeffrey Kelly, Daylon Kelly, Brittney McPherson, and Aubrey Smith and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  At other times the family will be at the family home in Broadway.  The funeral will be held Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Temple with Rev. Mike Oldham and Rev. Michael Oldham officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway, N.C.
