Dear Ann and Family,
So sorry to hear of Alton's passing. I will always treasure the special moments we shared at Hillsville, Liberty, and numerous Coca-Cola conventions. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

God strengthens us by giving us the "power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress". Isaiah 26:4b: "In the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength". Dear family, this loss comes as quite a painful shock and my heart breaks for you all. My prayers are with you all that the Holy Spirit will draw close and be the Great Comforter than only He can be. I can just hear Alton saying, "Mama, if you could see me now..." Just think of the rejoicing and reunions that he is enjoying in heaven in the presence of Jehovah God. He is having the time of his life! And it's just begun!! I sincerely regret that I won't be able to attend the services, but be assured that you're in my thoughts & prayers.

It is with a heavy heart I write these words. Although we only got to visit with Alton a few times a year, he and Ann made every minute special. Their home was mine and my son's favorite place to go and share stories. It has been one of my greatest joys the last 25 years. My son lance 19, has known Alton for all his 19 years, and is as grief stricken as I. We have lost a great friend, and the world a truly wonderful man. I wish Ann and the rest of the family all my love and prayers in this time of hardship. The world has dimmed without his light, but heaven has increased in it's brightness. go with God my old friend, I will see you again someday.......
