Mr. Ernest Hartwell Mahoney, age 59, of Sanford, N.C., died Friday, June 9, 2017, at Wake Med Health & Hospital in Raleigh, N.C.

Mr. Mahoney was born on March 27, 1958, in Moore County, N.C. to Mildred Herring Stewart of Sanford, N.C. and to the late Hugh Francis Mahoney.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Robert J. Mahoney of Castleberry, Florida and Michael David Mahoney of Sanford, N.C.
