Emilie Neese McCormick passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.  She was born on May 7, 1920 in Burlington, NC to the late Charles Freeman Neese and Elon Heath Heritage Neese.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John M. McCormick, daughter Eliza M. Marshall; sisters Martha Belle N. Humphrey, Sara Kaufman Neese; and brother C.F. Neese, Jr., “Petie.

Emilie was a homemaker dedicated to her family and church.  She was a gifted artist, played the piano by ear, enjoyed playing croquet, bridge and golf, and loved to travel.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth McCormick Hart and her husband, Danny of Sanford; five grandchildren Elizabeth H. Lindsey, Martha H. Borrell, Chad Dorsett, Austin D. Watson and Jon Kirkland; and 6 great-grandchildren Victoria Lindsey, Hannah Lindsey, Logan Borrell, Bailey Watson, Natalie Watson and Savannah Watson.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCormick’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Belle Meade Chapel (Belle Meade Retirement Community chapel in Pinehurst) with Rev. Archie Stevens officiating.
