Elmer Ernest Myers, age 87, of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation. 

He was born in Comanche, Oklahoma on June 24, 1930 to the late Claudie Odes Myers and Lula Mae Reynolds Myers.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Allan Myers.  Mr. Myers served his country and retired from the Army.  He worked as a cook while serving three tours in Korea.  He retired in 1969 after working almost twenty-two years with the Nike Hercules missiles. 

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Cummings Myers; three daughters, Christine Drey and her husband, Frank of Sanford, Vickie Lynn Hickman of Fayetteville and Debbie Smith and her husband, Reuben of Fayetteville.  He is also survived by his five grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM with Dr. Jerome Smith and Rev. Terry Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date at the Main Post Veterans cemetery on Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC.
