Dora Catherine Wilson Shue, age 90, of Broadway, NC, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on December 13, 1925 to the late Walter James Wilson and Hattie Boggs Wilson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Alexander Shue; sister Liller Shue; and brothers Carlie Wilson, James Wilson, Emory Wilson and Frankie Wilson.  Mrs. Shue graduated from Boone Trail High School and was a very active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church; serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of the WMU (Women’s’ Missionary Union), and Acteens leader.  She was also a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church quilting group.  Mrs. Shue’s passions were cooking, word searches and needle work.

She is survived by son Joey Shue and wife Nancy of Sanford; daughter Susan Shue-Stewart and husband Mike of Angier; sister Ruby Belsma of Sanford; niece-caregiver Phyllis Clark of Mamers; grandchildren Deidra Smith and husband Jason of Fuquay-Varina, Will Shue of Sanford, Sarah Patterson and husband Ryan of Broadway, Katie Smith and husband Les of Pittsboro; and great-grandchildren Caleb Smith, Kaleigh Smith, Kenzie Smith, Reece Patterson, Rylan Patterson, Addison Patterson, Maggy Smith and Olivia Smith.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church multi-purpose building and at other times at the home of Joey and Nancy Shue.  The funeral will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow, Rev. Jerry Parson and Rev. Michael Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Parking Lot Fund” of Holly Springs Baptist Church, 385 Holly Springs Church Road, Broadway, NC 27505.
