Billy Wayne Holder, age 66, of Sanford, N.C. died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Holder was born in Harnett Co., N.C., on Feb. 12, 1951, to the late Johnnie Alexander Holder and Mary Hazel Thornburg Holder.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Wiley Vonzell Holder.

He was a member of Barbecue Presbyterian Church and the Loyal Order of Moose, Sanford Lodge. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

Mr. Holder is survived by his wife, Sherry Godwin Holder; a son, Adam Garrett Holder and wife Jennifer of Wake Forest, N.C.; sisters, Helen West of Willow Springs, N.C. and Caroline Meadows of Sanford, N.C. and two grandchildren, Marlowe Holder and Harper Holder.

Viewing and receiving will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Barbecue Presbyterian Church with the funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Sherrod officiating.  Burial will be private.
