Barbara Joan Richards Crabtree, age 70, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, May 19, 2017, at Westfield Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Clinton County, NY on July 8, 1946, to the late Frank Richards and Doris Giroux.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Doris Mae Crabtree; a brother Wayne Roy Richards and a sister Sheryl Ann Wray.

She is survived by her husband, Obal Crabtree, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Dee Anna Shupe and Douglas of Sanford; a son, Obal Timothy Crabtree, III and Courtney of Sanford; sisters, Diane Smith of Plattsburgh, NY and Paulette Ambrosio of Dannemora, NY and brothers, Roger Richards and Betsy of Auburn, NY, Frank Richards, Jr. of Mooers, NY and Ricky Richards of Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren, Obal Timothy “Ty” Crabtree, IV, Mariah Ellen Crabtree, Paityn Caroline Crabtree, Beckett Karr Crabtree, Anthony “Tony” Brian Beauchamp, Jr. and Jenifer Renae Beauchamp.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, 7PM at Rocky Fork Christian Church with Pastor Vanya Mullinax officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 6 to 7PM.
