Bailey Thomas Way, age 67, of Wilson, NC, formerly of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home in Wilson.

He was born in Lee County, NC on May 17, 1949 to the late Jack Bailey Way and Helen Roberson Way.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Slaton Way; grandson Bradley Way and brother Gary Way.  Mr. Way was a self-employed truck driver hauling produce.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Lott Way of Wilson; sons Chris Way and wife Laurie of Sanford, Robert Mathis of Georgia; daughters Valerie Thompson and husband Tyrone of Southport, NC, Stephanie Cooper and husband Clark of Wilson, Cindy Graham and husband Chris of Fayetteville; sister Loraine Way Hockaday of Sanford; and grandchildren Jeffrey Wooten, Allan Wooten, Alexander Thompson, Tara Way, Kiley Way and Desireé Thompson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends at the home of Loraine Hockaday following the memorial service, 1812 Woodland Ave. Sanford, NC 27330.
