Annie Margaret Lassiter Vaughan McDonald, 92, of Sanford, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at Keller’s Oakhaven Resthome.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Wake County, on Feb. 13, 1924, to the late Ivan Lassiter and Ethel House Lassiter.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Marion Vaughan and Lacy Harold McDonald; her brothers, Russell, Everett, Robert, and Bennie Lassiter and sisters, Daphine Mogolnicki, Bettie Curtis and Joan Tillotson.  She was the head cashier at A & P Stores and very active in her church serving as a Choir Director, Treasurer, Organist, and Pianist. 

Surviving relatives include her son, Thomas G. Vaughan and Pam of Sanford and a daughter, Kimberly M. Little and Mike of Sanford and step-daughter, Betty Jean Brown and Chuck of PA; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 3PM, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregg Presnal and Mr. Douglas Currin presiding.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Morris Chapel Church, 8533 Cox Mill Rd., Sanford, NC  27332.
